This year, students will be encouraged to read or be read to as much as they can from their favorite authors and about their favorite topics! Keeping in mind the variety of interests and activities of students and our commitment to educational excellence, the faculty has selected books of quality that will not only appeal to students and stimulate them to read, but enrich and support social/emotional growth and our academic curriculum. Each family is asked to read at least one title from All School Reads 2023. These books will be part of media center lessons as we begin the 2023-2024 school year. Expanded book lists have been developed by our Media Specialists as a family resource and, while not required, texts from this list are sure to be enjoyed by our families.
Elementary Summer Reading Highlights:
Students will complete the Summer of Fun Calendar to enhance their growth as a whole child. Complete as many activities as you can in any order. Color in the box once you have completed an activity. Bring this calendar to your teacher on the first day of school
Share your summer fun with others! Post pictures of your student completing calendar activities to Twitter using the hashtag #lpssummeroffun. Student photos will be shared at our first all school assembly!
