LILMUN aims to emphasise the importance of the United Nations and its work.
LILMUN aims to help members understand how they can make a difference in the state of the world and gain a more thorough understanding of politics by putting them in the centre of decision making in a formal context.
LILMUN aims to make members aware of present global issues and find ways to address them as a team through discussion, debate and compromise.
LILMUN aims to help members develop valuable, transferable skills including, but not limited to, public speaking, critical thinking, communication and social skills, and argumentation.
The Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill is located on the historic site of Brent Town Hall (formerly Wembley Town Hall), a Grade II listed building designed by Clifford Strange and opened in 1940.
Delegates will convene in the committee rooms, formerly part of the Town Hall’s governance suite. These are large, wooden-panelled rooms, full of natural light, with high ceilings and enough room for full committee simulations. The Council Chamber, once where council meetings were held, also serves to lend gravitas to top-level committee sessions. The boardroom, perched on the rooftop, offers an inspiring space for smaller working groups or crisis simulations, with panoramic views and excellent daylight.
Our classrooms are fully technological: they feature video projectors, Apple TVs, and infrastructure for projecting images and documents from any device, ensuring smooth running of all procedural work and presentations.
For plenary sessions and major events, participants will gather in the Paul Daisley Hall, a spacious gymnasium with a stage and excellent facilities. During the conference, delegates will also be provided with meals in the canteen, located in the annex alongside our science, arts, and technology rooms.
The buildings are surrounded by green spaces, which provide pleasant outdoor settings for breaks, informal discussions, or just rest between sessions. The entire premises are fully accessible via ramps and elevators.
