String Orchestra is for students who have a minimum of one year experience playing the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Students will learn about different musical styles and continue to develop their technical skills in the full string ensemble setting, and in small chamber groups. The students will also begin to cultivate their abilities to critically analyze their performances and the performances of others. This group will perform several times a year, including our Winter and Spring Concerts at AHS and CHS, several combined concerts with local middle and high schools, and at a Disneyland studio recording session. Students who did not take beginning strings must audition for Mr. Pracher. This class is open to 6th – 8th graders.
We have two professional musicians who come in once a week to coach our students on instrument specific skills. Mrs. Beseke works with our Violin and Violas, Ms. Raliegh works with our cellos and basses. They are also available for private lessons if you want to improve quicker. They can also be hired as professional musicians for a gig if you have need!
