Meet

Mrs. O'Connell

I am eager to get to know your children this school year and would like to share a bit of my background so you can get to know me as well. I'm a SoCal native, having grown up in the Pasadena area. I have a Bachelors degree in Education and a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education, both from California State University, Los Angeles.

Although I've only been at Round Meadow for four years, I’ve been an elementary teacher for over 17 years. I started my career in the Glendale Unified School District and spent my early years teaching classes in each grade level from kindergarten through 3rd grade in La Crescenta. I joined the Las Virgenes Unified School District in 2007 wherein I initially had the pleasure of teaching in other LVUSD elementary schools like Chaparral and Lupin Hill. After having my second child in August of 2015, I decided to join my first partner teacher, Crystal Kalish, here at Round Meadow. This year will be my first year working with my new partner, Robin Stidham. In the time I've been here, I've fallen in love with the culture and community of this school.

As a mother of two young boys (my oldest turns seven in October) and a little girl (just over two), I'll just say that my personal life is an 'adventure.' I love spending my free time with my husband, our sons, Chase and Colton, our daughter, Kinsley, and our two fur babies (our pug mixed dogs, Delilah and Penelope).
