2020-2021 School Year - We've got this!
Distance learning has created many challenges for our students, families, and teachers. In an attempt to keep all of our schedules as consistent as possible, I am excited to meet with you every day via Zoom at our designated start time - meeting links will be provided on Google Classroom prior to the first day of school. If there is ever a reason that class is not being held online, it will be documented in advance on the class-specific website (see tabs above) as well as on Google Classroom. Students and parents can email me with any questions or concerns and I will respond within 24 hours, if not sooner!
During this time, we cannot forget to take care of ourselves and give ourselves permission to do our best; this year we will be working hard and embracing unexpected imperfections. If we stick together and exercise patience with one another, we can make anything work.
I am looking forward to getting to know you, my 2020-2021 students, and having a wonderful year... Let's make some lemonade, everybody! :D
Sincerely,
Ms. Kammer
Set your alarm and wake up at your normal time every day
Get out of bed and get dressed before your online classes begin - don't wear pj's if you can avoid it
Eat something before class, and have something to drink close by
Find a designated space to work - if it is your bed (like it was for Ms. Kammer) be sure you're sitting up, not lying down
Wear headphones if you have distractions (such as siblings also in class) in the same room as you
Make an agenda that is easily visible - know what your schedule is each day and which classes you have
Don’t procrastinate - be sure to complete work that is assigned outside of your class time; THE SOONER THE BETTER
Don’t be afraid to ask questions - it is very difficult for your teachers to tell when you need extra support, so let us know <3
Take advantage of your online resources - tutoring sessions and office hours are available for all of your teachers so use them
Actively participate - try to raise your hand and offer comments 2-3 times per class (more if you can!)
Send your teachers funny and interesting stuff - let them get to know you (you may get some good stuff back in return!)
Be patient with yourself, but keep being productive - don't take too much time off from assignments, and if you need help ASK
