Welcome to Mr. Moore's website! It is my philosophy that all students can learn and I will strive to provide the best educational experience for all of my students. I'm a graduate of CSUCI with a BA in History and CLU with a MAEd. I have been teaching in LVUSD since 2013 and love what I do. History is my passion and I look forward to sharing that with my students. The best way to ensure success in my class is to be prepared, and that means completing and submitting ALL assignments on time, studying properly, being present and engaged, and taking care to use standard written English at all times. Being respectful in class is of great importance and of course, it is also critical to participate in class activities and discussions while keeping up with outside reading.
I do not accept late work unless previously discussed with the student.
Test makeups are allowed and discussed with the student. The student will have the amount of days they were absent, plus one week, to make the test up. If they do not within that time, they will receive a zero. Test makeups can be a different version of the original test to insure academic honesty.
Refer to your Google Classroom AND contact your classmates to see what you missed. Do not rely on the websites alone. I will update it as often as possible, but nothing substitutes being in class. There are no excuses when it comes to making up work when you miss school. Healthy and able? Make it easier on yourself and come to school everyday! You have as many days to make up the work as your excused absences.
Check your AERIES! If you don't have an account, talk to your parents and your counselor to obtain access. It is crucial to monitor your grade. I enter grades as often as possible and will never go more than two weeks without entering grades. You are responsible for monitoring your grades!
