Reading: Polar Bears and Polar Bears in Peril

Comprehension Focus: Students use wondering/questioning to make sense of an expository text, use schema to articulate what they think they know about the topic of an expository text prior to reading, identify what they learn from an expository text, compare and contrast 2 expository texts on the same topic, read independently, read in groups.

Spelling: Words Their Way differentiated word study program. Students will be working on spelling and word study skills at their levels.

Grammar: Comparative and Superlative Adjectives

Vocabulary: struggle, skill, skillful, opportunity, generally, decline

Writing: Informational Writing - research, pick ocean animal

Art: polar bear tech art

Math: Chapter 9 - Compare Fractions

Timed Multiplication Quizzes every Tuesday and Thursday

Math 9.5 - Compare and Order Fractions

Math 9.6 - Model Equivalent Fractions

Math 9.7 - Equivalent Fractions

In place of reading journal is the ocean animal text evidence packet. DUE FRIDAY.
