Andrew Maitam- Andrew started playing water polo at the age of thirteen at Calabasas High School. He became a three-year varsity starter where he was a 2-time all-coastal canyon league selection, 2-time scoring leader, MVP, team captain, and record holder for goals in a game (11) and goals in a season (121). He played club water polo for Bruins WPC where he competed in multiple Junior Olympic and Futures competitions. In addition to water polo he was also a three-time letter winner, 2-time all-coastal canyon league selection, and 2-time CIF finalist in swimming.
Andrew started coaching water polo shortly after graduating from CHS in 2017. He has been directly involved with both the boys and girls programs at Calabasas High since 2018, where he has either served as an assistant or head coach. He was promoted to the girls' head coach in the summer of 2021. Since then the CHS GWP team have made three straight playoff appearances which includes one quarterfinal game and also set multiple program records.
Andrew has also garnered club coaching experience, he held the position of 18U girls head coach at SFV water polo from 2019-2021 before joining the South Coast staff in 2022. Since joining South Coast he has spent time coaching 16U boys and girls as well the youth 14U girls. Andrew received his BA and teaching credential in English Language Arts from Pepperdine University in 2022. In addition to his coaching duties, he currently teaches middle school English locally at A.C. Stelle Middle School.
Aaron Duzs- Aaron started playing water polo at Calabasas High School. He was a member of the swim and water polo team for four years and played with head coach Andrew Maitam. He has completed studies at Universities in Budapest, Hungary. He is excited to start his coaching career this season.
