Students need to have their laptops charged at the start of each day.
They need headphones/earbuds each day so that they can better hear the lessons, and so my computer noise isn't being heard by the rest of the house.
Their work space should be cleared of distractions, and all other digital tools (no gaming systems, phones, iPads, etc.)
Students will need spiral notebooks for note taking, pens for correcting and drawing, and pencils. They should always have current book they are reading independently. It is OK for students to read graphic novels (it is real reading). It is ok for them to reread books they enjoy. Reading is reading is reading.
They should be seated at a place where they can also write/take notes etc. School supplies should be within easy reach should we pause to open a book etc. I recommend having a basket or box with all of their papers, books, writing supplies etc. so that things are easily organized and accessible.
