Head Coach [shamilton@lvusd.org]
I have been a dedicated member of the Agoura High School Spirit Team coaching staff since 2021 and have proudly served as Head Coach since 2022. My passion for performance began early, as I started dancing at just 18 months old and trained under Broadway’s Thommie Retter. From there, I pursued opportunities in dance that led me to perform in national competitions, Hollywood productions, and live shows.
At nine years old, I landed my first paid role in a vaudeville production in Hollywood, which marked the beginning of my performance career. I continued to train with renowned instructors, including Wade Robson, and traveled across the country to compete and perform. During this time, I earned national titles and was given the opportunity to further my dance training in New York.
After my years in dance, I found a new passion in cheerleading. I cheered throughout both high school and college, where I developed a strong foundation in teamwork, leadership, and athletic performance. Since then, my focus has shifted to stunting, tumbling, and pom, where I strive to develop well-rounded athletes while building a positive and driven team culture.
I am incredibly proud of the team and program we have built over the past several years and all that our athletes have accomplished. I am committed to continuing to inspire our athletes, foster teamwork, and elevate the program for years to come.
Assistant Coach [nmurphy@lvusd.org]
I am proud to be back at Agoura High School, where I was a four-year varsity athlete and part of a team that won four state titles and three national championships in the Crowdleader division. My experience as an athlete shaped my passion for the sport and continues to influence the high standards, discipline, and attention to detail I bring to coaching.
I have been coaching cheer and gymnastics for eight years, and this is my second year with the Agoura Spirit Team. My background includes six years of competitive gymnastics, where I competed in the Junior Olympics program as a Level 8 at just 11 years old, along with an additional four years of advanced tumbling training. I also have several years of dance experience, which has strengthened my performance quality, musicality, and overall approach to choreography and execution.
Through both my athletic and coaching experiences, I am passionate about developing well-rounded athletes who are confident, disciplined, and committed to growth. I strive to create a positive, structured, and supportive environment where athletes are challenged to reach their full potential while also feeling valued as individuals.
I am honored to be part of a program with such a strong legacy and am committed to continuing to build on that tradition of excellence, both on and off the mat.
