Meet Mrs. Bauwens

This is my 29th year teaching in the Las Virgenes Unified School District. For my undergraduate studies I went to UCSB and majored in Biological Sciences.  Then I attended Pepperdine and earned my Teaching Credential and Masters in Education. 

Teaching and working with children has always been a passion of mine. My goal is always for students to have fun while learning.

My family is one of the biggest joys in my life.  My children, Jakey (21 ) and Brooke (17), along with my husband Bill, and dogs, Halo and Kona, make up our happy household.  Jakey is starting his senior year at ASU. Brooke will be a senior at Newbury Park High School. We love living in the Dos Vientos Community in Newbury Park. Our weekends are often spent watching Brooke's dance.

I love to exercise, read, travel, swim, and spend time with family and friends. My family loves to go to Angel's games and watch the Lakers. Some of my favorites include Teppan dining, Italian food, shopping, and spending quality time with the children in my class.  

I am very excited to have the opportunity to share this year with your children. Each child is truly an individual and I love getting to know each of our students.
