I am excited for our school year! It is my pleasure to have your child in my classroom. I graduated from Chico State with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a concentration in Mathematics. I have worked with a variety of diverse groups of students ranging from Transitional Kindergarten through seventh grade, to include emotionally disturbed children.
I am committed to working with you and your child to make this a successful year. I believe that all children work at different levels socially, emotionally, and academically. Therefore, I will expect different things from each student. PLEASE feel free to contact me with any questions and/or concerns about your child. Parent/teacher/student communication is very important to me. The better informed I am, the better I can work with and help your child. I will always do my best to look at ways to help your child.
I expect each student to be respectful to each person inside and outside the classroom. I expect the students to be responsible with their assignments (even when absent), to arrive to school on time, to follow directions, and to portray principled behavior while showing respect. Students will often work in a variety of different work settings such as, independent, partners, cooperative groups, and whole class instruction. I expect students to respectfully listen to and inquire about others’ ideas and be open-minded as well as share their own ideas.
I would like to thank you, in advance, for your support this year. Your child will have an abundance of responsibilities, learning opportunities, and growth throughout the year. It is imperative to remember support and encouragement at home and at school will help your child strive further to succeed. Together as a team, we can provide an environment for success through effective and mutual support. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time if you have any questions and/or concerns. E-mail and notes are the timeliest ways to reach me.
Sincerely,
Julie Bailey
