Library Media Specialist & Enrichment Teacher

Locust Valley Intermediate School Library and Innovation Center (SLIC) is home to a variety of print and digital resources for students and staff for both educational and recreational interests. Phew, that's a mouthful! A simpler way of saying this, is that the school library & innovation center looks to inform, engage, and inspire all who walk through our doors.

During the school year, every class meets twice weekly in the library. One of our weekly classes focuses on topics including library organization and access, online resource organization and access, literature appreciation, digital literacy and citizenship, and research skills.

The second of the weekly classes is dedicated to our LEAP Enrichment program. Typically, there are three components to this program: 1) coding, 2) STEAM, and 3) research. Each grades' LEAP Enrichment curriculum is unique to the grade.

Students will find lesson specific instructions and resources in their Google Classroom (all classes join their Google Classroom at the beginning of the school year with a class code).
