The Lehigh Valley Academy Chapter of the National Art Honor Society is advised at the high school by Ms. Howard and is open to LVA students in grades 9-12 that are involved in any of the following major or elective courses: Visual Art, Film, Design. Applications are accepted each year in the fall semester of the school year. The chapter induction ceremony is traditionally scheduled during the spring semester and takes place on campus.
Eligibility criteria also includes:
Grade of 90% (A-) or higher in your major or elective Visual Arts, Film, or Design
Grade of 83% (B) or higher in all other courses.
To remain a member in good standing a student must fulfill the following criteria:
Maintain a grade of 90% (A-) or higher in your Visual Arts, Film, or Design major or elective course.
Maintain a grade of 83% (B) or higher in all other courses.
Actively participate in NAHS meetings and activities
Communicate with NAHS leadership (advisors, student officers and committee chairs)
Yearly service hour requirement that may also be counted toward either MYP Service Hours or CAS Hours
Additional requirements as outlined in the chapter bylaws and constitution which are located on the chapter's google classroom
"Since 1978, the National Art Honor Society Programs support student members in their efforts to attain the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service. The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) or National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) are more than “art clubs.” Students are required to meet eligibility criteria for membership as detailed in your chapter’s constitution and bylaws."
