Hotspots

The S.W.A.T. Team at Luxemburg-Casco High School now has eight wireless hotspots for students to check out. These devices are leased through Verizon Wireless and provide another option for students who do not have Internet access at home but still need to complete work online outside of school hours. If you are a student without Internet access at home and you'd like to work online away from school, you may check out an access point from the S.W.A.T. Team for up to three weeks at a time. Use of the hotspots is subject to the district's Computer Technology, Network, and Internet Acceptable Use and Safety Policy. Check out the links below for more information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a data cap?

Each hotspot has a daily data cap of 500MB. After a student has consumed more than 500MB in a day the network speed is reduced for the remainder of the day.

Are the hotspots filtered?

The hotspots are filtered by the wireless provider, so they are only meant for use on school work. Streaming services are disabled by default by the wireless provider in order to preserve data.
