Ms. Covey

My name is Julie Covey and I teach American Literature and Journalism at VOHS.

I have been teaching since 1994, all but one year in Alternative Education.

I went to college, studied art and worked as an interior designer until one year between jobs, when I did some subbing. I fell in love with teaching at Juvenile Hall and have been teaching ever since.

Teaching is more than a vocation for me, it's where I am supposed to me!

I grew up all over the world, following my sailor dad from base to base. I've lived in Stockton since college, it's important to me to live near my family.

My only daughter graduated SJSU in December of 2017 and is currently living in Portland. When she has babies, I'll have to become an Oregonian!
