Salvador Dali’s Dreamscapes (1st project) 2 weeks
Students combine an unrelated emotion, event, place and object in a surreal landscape drawing, which is colored to indicate lighting and sculpture.

8th Grade Art
Ceramic Name Plate (2nd project) 2 weeks
Students will receive an introduction to serif versus sans-serif typography and create a font that reflects their personality. They will then sculpt the letters of their name and objects of personal significance out of clay and combine them on a clay slab to create a unified name plate.

Gaining Some Perspective (4th project) 2 weeks
After warm up activity of 1-point perspective, students will create an observational drawing of the school hallway on watercolor paper, which they will then transform into an imaginative space. Final paintings will be executed in guoache.
