The library should be the heart of the school. I want everyone to feel safe, comfortable and respected. If you need help with ANYTHING, please come see me. I may be busy, but I am always here to help you.

A little about me:
A little about me:
I've been the high school Library Media Specialist since October 2000. In 2016 I also became the Library Media Specialist for the middle school. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a historic and prestigious honor society whose motto is "Love of Learning is the Guide to Life". I have a Masters degree in History and a second Masters degree in Library Science with a concentration in Archives & Manuscripts from the University of Maryland at College Park. I am a certified Library Media Specialist through the Massachusetts DESE. And I really like to help with history and research projects!! I create all the Google accounts and a lot of other tech accounts you will learn about this year. I was the advisor for the Class of 2022! And you'll probably notice teachers and students come here all the time for help with technology and projects and pretty much everything. I love helping students with research and projects. I love reading books. I love helping people. So this is the perfect job :-)

I teach 6th and 7th grade enrichment classes
I run a high school advisory (like a homeroom but we try to do fun things together like carve pumpkins, tie-dye shirts, make food and play games)
I help students with research papers and projects
I teach students how to search our databases
I show students which databases are the best fit for their projects
I created a Google Doc password sheet so students & teachers can easily access all the databases from home
I help students and teachers find books - fiction books, nonfiction books, reference books, ebooks and audiobooks
I teach students how to create citations in both MLA (for ELA projects) and Chicago (for history projects). I make guides that students can access from home if they have questions
I create Google accounts and manage Google Workspace for Education for everyone in the Lunenburg school system
I create Destiny accounts for everyone in the district so that you can check out books
I create Noteflight accounts for our music students
BOOKS!! I order new books, process the new books (cover them, create MARC records for the Destiny online catalog so that you can search for them, add spine labels with call numbers so you can find them on the shelves, put new books on display, and add barcodes so that you can check them out
please recommend books and authors that you enjoy so that I can build the best collection for you!!
I placed all of the middle school fiction books into color-coded genres with colorful signage to make finding great books as easy as possible
I send email reminders when books are overdue
I help students and teachers find good technology tools to use with projects
I help students, teachers and administrators with technology issues - Chromebooks, passwords, cloud printing, Google, and lots of other software and hardware problems
I supervise students working on VHS courses (Virtual High School)
I supervise student volunteers and my STEP students (senior students who work for me)
I teach technology classes to teachers
I am always trying to learn new technology tools, especially new programs to use on the Chromebooks
