Children begin third grade very aware of the world around them. They wonder, question, argue, and doubt. They are growing their resilience, intellectual curiosity, and independent thought. As they move into fourth grade, children consolidate the gains from their early school years and take pleasure in group efforts and collaboration. Fifth grade marks the beginning of adolescence for many children as the cognitive structures in the brain are rewiring and bodies begin to transform. It is an exciting time of change as they begin to establish a sense of physical and emotional identity.
