ACE (Advanced Community Experiences) is a program that serves young adults with disabilities between the ages of 18-22 at Lunenburg Public Schools. While in this program, these young adults work on developing their community safety, healthy living, travel training, independent living, social, secondary education (when appropriate) and vocational skills. Each student in the ACE program has an individually designed program based off of their IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals and objectives. This is a community based program which means that students are practicing these skills in the community as much as possible. Job placements are a vital part of the program to ensure that students are able to practice those necessary skills within a setting in which they may continue those skills in the future.
Molly has had an incredible start to the school year. She has begun helping in the THES cafeteria once a week, started the REDI program at Walgreens twice a week, and has obtained a paying job outside of school at Nashoba Valley Winery as a dish washer! Molly is always ready and willing to help within the classroom and has a strong desire to succeed outside of it. Please join me in congratulating Molly on all of her accomplishments this month!
