The Wildfire Resiliency Training Center (WRTC) at Luna Community College, is committed to becoming the central hub for all wildland and structural fire certification and training as well as for forest and land restoration certification and training. Students and community members can enroll in non-credit, workforce development curricula which ultimately could lead to associate degrees in applied sciences. The WRTC also can deliver many informational classes focused agencies in the Northern New Mexico region and beyond. Leveraging this expertise, we strive to combine the unique skills, strengths, experiences and resources of all partners and collaborators, along with robust community engagement. Through these efforts, we aim to improve community safety, protect our wildlands and natural resources, further develop our workforce and continue to foster community partnerships and participation.

“ Last February, I joined the Wildfire Resiliency Training Center as an Administrative Assistant. I am thrilled to support a team dedicated to wildland fire resilience and New Mexico’s premier training programs. Drawing on my experience with the Community Foundation and the US Forest Service, I am eager to contribute to our mission. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking in the Southwest and volunteering for local ecological restoration projects.”
