What tools can I find on CA Colleges:
CA Colleges is a one-stop shop for college/career readiness. Parents and Students should utilize program to check their A-G eligibility status and explore various programs/majors available in our California Schools.
Launch College Applications:
Students can check their A-G Eligibility Status, Credit Status, and Launch UC/CSU/CCC Applications.
Navigate to californiacolleges.edu and Sign in. Hover over College at the top and Click Launch Application.
Financial Aid: Students should launch their Financial Aid Applications in CA Colleges by Hovering over Financial and Click Launch Application. Keep in mind, FAFSA deadlines have been pushed back this year opening Dec 2023 and closing April.
Career Exploration: Students will complete many Career Exploration Modules in CA Colleges including their Interest Profiler, Personality tests, Financial Costs, etc.

How to Apply:
Step 1: Create a CCCApply.org account.
Use your full legal name. Save your username and password on your college tracker.
You will need your social security number, if you do not have one, you can still apply.
Step 2: Once you create the account, you complete the application for the community college of your choice.
Step 3: Once you complete and submit your application you will receive an email within 1-3 days with your student ID Number along with your username to create your college portal and other important information. Keep this email safe to refer back to it.
Step 4: Request a copy of your transcript.
Step 5: Create your college portal.
Step 6: Complete all of the steps in your college portal: If you plan to attend West Hills or College of the Sequoias, we have our reps on campus that will assist with these steps!

Find the California State University that is right for you based on location or the majors that are offered. Click here
How To Apply to a CSU:
Step 1: Gather your necessary documents including the following:
Your Social Security number, if you have one
Your citizenship status
Annual income Your parents’ if you are a dependent; your income if you are independent
Educational Program, Work and Extracurricular Participation Information You will need to provide the years you participated in college preparation programs and your average number of hours per week of work and/or participation in extracurricular activities
Unofficial transcripts (both high school and college transcripts, if applicable)
Step 2: Applicants must apply via the online Cal State Apply application between October 1, 2023-November 30, 2023. (Sign up with personal email)
Step 3: Begin selecting the programs you wish to apply to
Step 4: Fill out personal information, including information about your parents.
Step 5: Fill out your academic history.
Step 6: Complete EOP application if you qualify.
Note: Once you finish your application you may have to pay for your applications. Some students qualify for a fee waiver, check to see if you qualify by clicking "CHECK MY FEE WAIVER STATUS " in the Submit applications tab.

Test scores (UC will not consider SAT or ACT test scores when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships for Fall 2022 applicants).

You should select any and all scholarship categories that apply to you (there’s no limit on the number of scholarships you can select).
Personal insight
This is the section where you’ll need to answer the personal insight questions. You’ll have 8 questions to choose from, and you must respond to only 4 of the 8 questions. Use the additional comments field if there are issues you'd like to address that you didn't have the opportunity to discuss elsewhere on the application.

A list of your activities, work, and family responsibilities
Test scores and dates from your college entrance exams. (If applicable, most colleges are not requiring test scores for Fall 2022 applicants.)

Step 2: Create your profile on CommonApp.org
Step 3: Add colleges to your list
Step 4: Understand requirements. Each college is different and deadlines can vary. Make sure you read each application carefully to know what you need to do for that college application.
