Grading Policies

My grading policy follows our district guidelines as outlined in the Band and Lufkin ISD Handbook.

Lufkin MS Band Virtual Academy:

During the 2020-2021 school year, students will be allowed to participate in the Lufkin Virtual Learning Academy (LVLA) while still maintaining membership in the Lufkin MS Band. Band students who utilize LVLA will participate in asynchronous band lessons each week through Google Classroom. Students will be required to submit video recordings of themselves performing assignments that are concurrent with in-person student assignments. The expectation for band students who utilize LVLA band membership is that they will still be allowed, but not required, to attend band events and practices that happen outside of normal school hours. Parents/guardians will have sole discretion as to whether or not LVLA band students attend band events and practices that happen outside of normal school hours.

Practice times:

Due to Covid-19, there will be no practicing in the band hall before or after school until further notice.

Dropping off/picking up instruments:

The Band Hall is open in the mornings every day from 7:30 AM to 8:05 AM, and after school until 4:00 PM.
