On August 21, 2025, the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees approved the creation of a Bond Advisory Committee made up of community members and district staff to study and provide recommendations for a possible bond election on May 2, 2026, focused on facility improvements. 

Committee Charter

• Consideration and analysis of facilities data related to possible bond election 

• Basic knowledge of public-school finance and district financial data 

• Collaborative construction of bond proposal

• Participation in follow-up activities that result from the comittee's bond proposal
