LMS Drill Team is an award-winning dance/drill team that was created as an extension of our dance program at LHS. Since it's inception in 2017, LMS Drill Team has been a fixture at LMS football and basketball halftimes, a highlight at pep rallies, and acts as the hosting team at all LMS Dance Department shows.
Our team is made up of 8th grade dancers. You must be enrolled at LMS the Spring of your 7th grade year and must be able to meet predetermined grade and disicpline standards.
Dancers that are hopeful to make our team will have to turn in paperwork that can be received at our tryout meeting in the Spring or at our LMS grade level offices after the meeting. Hopefuls will perform a jazz dance and kicks that will be taught at tryout clinics for outside judges.
The tryout date for our 2021-2022 team has not been determined at this time. Dates for tryouts will be posted in the early Spring of 2021.
Do I have to take LMS Dance classes in 6th and 7th grade to be eligible to tryout?
-No. You do not have to be enrolled in our dance program in order to tryout. We do strongly encourage hopefuls to take dance classes before tryouts. These classes can be taken at private dance studios or at LMS, but they are not required.
How many members can make the team?
-There is not a set number of team members each year. The judges determine the scores of our hopefuls at tryouts, and then a determination of the number of team members is made.
