Welcome to Mr. Roush's Web Page
This web site will provide you with options to help you find the class syllabus as well as learning targets and daily assignment logs for my ITV-Advanced Physics, Algebra I, Applied Technical Math (dual-credit with WITC), and CMP 3: Grade 8 mathematics courses. Please feel free to take time to look through to read what is expected from the students in these classes. You will also find links to information for all classes describing expectations, and what assignments will be given and topics to be discussed. This will also help parents know when a quiz or test is up and coming.
Just a little bit of information about myself:
I have been teaching math and physics in the Luck School District since 1998 and have enjoyed every minute. My family lives in a farm home outside of Cushing ,Wisconsin. My wife Rhonda and I have three children (Mike, Sarah, and Eric) and six grand children (Marcus, Melanie, Cecilia, Genevieve, Martha, and James).
Rhonda and I enjoy doing many of the same activities, but our real passion is Twins baseball. Yes, if you take a look at my classroom you will see that I enjoy attending many Twins games during the year and even make the trip to Florida for spring training. Besides baseball, you will find me often riding my bike along the road-side all summer and sometimes tandem with my wife, and you will find me ice-fishing most of the winter. Don't ask me where I catch them, I'll never tell you the truth.
A brief course description which Mr. Roush instructs and links to each class syllabus are listed below.
As of the 20116-17 school year I have introduced this advanced physics course to not only our school district but districts throughout the state of Wisconsin. This opportunity has opened new avenues for school districts to provide their student body the option to participate in an advanced physics course.
This course objectives will build upon the pre-algebra concepts students completed during their grade 7 and 8 mathematics, while introducing the students to mathematical concepts which will aid them into the beginning of their high school math career.
Applied Technical Math
This course is now a WITC dual credit which means if successful upon completion you will have obtained a math credit in the WITC system. This course emphasis is designed to recall many of a student's background knowledge in mathematics and to utilize these skills in a practical application which may be necessary for a student who plans to begin their life career in the trade field. Welding skills will be the main conceptual approach but other construction trades will be utilized.
