Classroom Photos

Cardinal Academy 2021

The first day of school found the children following notes left by Pete the Cat. That crazy cat got away from us...but have no fear, the students eventually found him in the cafeteria. It was a fun school tour to say the least!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Pete had a surprise for the students when he was found...he had cookies! We brought them back to the classroom to decorate with blue frosting, yellow M & M's for the eyes and a chocolate chip for the nose...Ta-Da, we made a PETE THE CAT cookie!

It's going to be a great year!

The children look forward to meeting with

their 3rd grade reading buddies.

Friday, October 1st was APPLESAUCE DAY!

The children were put to work chopping the apples into small pieces.

The applesauce was given a THUMBS UP from all the children.

Fire Prevention Week! The children enjoyed the visit from Fireman Tony and Fireman Justin.

The children made this super cute fire truck snack on Tuesday. Their smiles say it all!!

Five Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate

The children were given 5 candy pumpkins and were given a task to build a gate for their pumpkins. They are quite the little engineers!

PUMPKIN PATCH FUN

Climbing the tower or straw bales for a class photo!

Pumpkin Carving Day!

The children had fun turning the classroom pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern!

The pumpkin weighed 17 pumpkins before it was carved and 11 pounds after it was carved.

Some of the children helped count the pumpkin's seed.

The pumpkin had 550 seeds! WOW!

Mrs. Pfaff baked the pumpkin seeds with butter and salt! The roasted pumpkin seeks almost received all thumbs up.

TA-DA! Now our pumpkin is a Jack-O-Lantern!

The 50th Day of School

It was fun celebrating the 50th day of school on November 15th. The children began their day by making a necklace of 50 Froot Loops. The fun continued with a sock hop...bubble gum blowing, the limbo, doing hula hoops and playing a hula hoop music game. Third grade reading buddies came in the afternoon to do a 50s graph with the children. Next big day is mid February...the 100th day!!

a burger and fry basket was a perfect 50s lunch...and the root beer float was the cherry on top!

Pp is for Pepperoni Pizza!

Elf Centers....

the smiles on the students faces say it all! What a fun morning! The children were involved in a color word center, "race to the top" elf activity, a dice game and had an opportunity to build a shelf for an elf!

OH NO!

Before Christmas the children were "informed" that Santa's sleigh was broken and that we would be delivering gifts this year from a parachute. The children went straight to work building him the perfect parachute that would land right on target!

SILLY CARDINAL!

Our classroom Elf on the Shelf, Cardinal got ahold of Mrs. Pfaff's computer. He added his picture to every calendar slide. Oh my!

WINTER BIRDS

This week the children learned about winter birds in our area. They heard nonfictional stories about cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers and chick-a-dees. They choose cardinal or blue jay to make and write about. On Friday the children made a bird feeder.

The 100th Day of School!

Building to 100 has never been so much fun!

The 100th day was enjoyed by all.

Thank you parents for helping with the trail mix donations!

TIN FOIL BOATS

To say the students had fun with the tin foil boats would be an understatement...they have a blast!
