Valorant is a free to play 5v5 tactical based shooter. The objective of Valorant pits attackers against defenders, attackers tasked with planting a bomb called "the spike", and defenders tasked with stopping them. You have rounds to attack and defend your side using sharp gunplay and tactical abilities; and, with one life per-round, you'll need to think faster than your opponent if you want to survive.
Take on foes across Competitive and Unranked modes, which follow the same first-to-13 rounds rules, with Competitive having a ranking system. More casual game modes are Deathmatch, a free-for-all where all players have access to any gun, and Spike Rush a shorter version of unranked, with powerups scattered around the map. Finally, there is often a rotating special gamemode, which features modes like Snowball fight, or a gun game style match called Escalation.
Currently, the game hosts a cast of 14 characters, each with their own unique ability set and class. Broken into Initiators, Duelists, Controllers, and Sentinels, each character has a designated playstyle and method of attack.
