Welcome to my class! I am so excited to spend my year with you reading and growing. I started at Hutchinson Middle School in January 2019 after working at Texas Tech University as a college recruiter and academic advisor. Teaching students to love reading is something I feel very strongly about because it can transform their world. Nothing brings me more joy than when a student tells me they never liked reading until they took my class, or when they ask for book suggestions.

At any given moment, I can be found reading one book and listening to two others! My favorite genre is mystery/thriller, but I do enjoy a good memoir or fantasy. You will find that I keep a large stock of classroom books for my students to peruse. Buying books is a weakness I cannot find a way to overcome.

I am a lifelong learner. I have a Bachelor's degree in History, a Master's in Interdisciplinary Studies, and a graduate certificate in Women and Gender Studies from Texas Tech. In addition, I have my yoga and SEL certifications. I really do LOVE learning!

I am the proud mom of three adult children, four dogs, and one husband. All three of my children attended Hutch, so my fondness for this school runs deep.
