Mrs. Popanz :)

Hi! I'm so very excited to be teaching your child Reading and Writing this year! I'm a very proud Red Raider! Go Tech! I graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2003 and finished my post-baccalaureate in Education through the Graduate School at Tech in 2007. I've been teaching since 2007 and I'm starting my seventh year here as a Smith Star. I've taught second grade for eleven years and one year in first grade. Second grade is the BEST year! It's awesome to see the students just really start to soar with their reading and writing skills and have a love for learning.

My husband, Fred, and I were married in 2008 and we are blessed with three beautiful children, Audrey (8), Marek (5), Ella (8 months), and one fur baby, Chloe (9). We love traveling to see our families spread across Texas, Colorado, and Wisconsin. Family time is very important to us and you'll usually find us working in our garden, watching Tech sports, reading, playing outside, family board game nights, and having Slumber Party Saturdays!
