Lubbock ISD recognizes the value of well-trained personnel and therefore views staff development as a necessary, continuous and systematic effort to improve district programs and student performance. District and campus professional development opportunities are provided throughout the year. However, it is also important for adults to have the opportunity to determine their own professional needs and areas of desired growth and be able to create personal growth plans. In order to accomplish this, Lubbock ISD staff members will have the opportunity to structure personalized plans to help them meet the needs of students and district responsibilities. To this end, staff will have a set number of flexible professional development hours that must be earned.
