FAQ

So, you're interested in joining the newspaper, but you have a few questions? Feel free to contact us @ lawrencian@ltps.info . Below are some common questions we encounter from interested students.

  • Do I have to have prior experience to work on the newspaper?

No, no experience is necessary!

  • When do we meet?
    • Students should meet two to three times per quarterly issue. Once for initial planning, once for a status check, and once for final review (this would be a good time to order pizzas) to celebrate the completion of each quarter's issue.

  • What about the classroom?
    • The newspaper utilizes a Google Classroom to help student staff members submit articles and art/photos as well as to remind them of deadlines for their work. It is also a convenient way to email everyone at once or take surveys for staff interests. A code will be shared at the first meeting.

  • I'm already busy with other clubs, but I want to join. Is that possible?
    • Of course! The more diverse the interests and involvement of the students on staff, the better! This is our school newspaper, so, in order to cover as much school news as possible, it is beneficial to have members involved in a variety of clubs and activities in order to report on them.
