TSIA2
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2 or TSI) is a college placement test for students enrolling in public universities or colleges in the State of Texas. All students must take the TSI to be able to register for classes at any public university or college. Students interested in Dual Credit must be college ready to be eligible to take any college courses.
COMING SOON...Starting this school year 23-24 TSIA2 will be offered at Lake Travis High School. Testing calendar and procedures will be posted by Nov 10.
Before a student can take the TSI, they must first complete the Pre-Assessment Activity. The Pre-Assessment Activity allows a student to become familiar with the test and allows the students to have practice questions. Once a student has completed the Pre-Assessment Activity they will receive a Certificate of Completion. LTHS students must take a screenshot of their Certificate of Completion and email it to to Lori Wristers (wristersl@ltisdschools..org).
Below are the TSIA2 College Ready Scores (Students must be TSI College Ready in both ELAR and Writing to be able to take most Dual Credit Classes.)ELAR: score of 945+ or <945 and 5 (Diagnostic)
Essay: score of 5
Math: score of 950+ or 6 (ABE-M)
TSIA2 Exemptions
If you meet at least one of these exemptions approved by the state, you may not need to take the TSI Assessment 2.0. If you meet the minimum scores for either the English or mathematics portion of the tests listed below, you may not need to take that portion of the assessment.
ACT®: combined score of 40 on the English and Reading (E+R) and 22 on mathematics ~OR~
SAT®: minimum of 530 on Mathematics for exemption in TSI Math; minimum of 480 on Evidenced-Based Reading & Writing (EBRW) for exemption in TSI Reading and Writing ~OR~
You have satisfactorily completed college-level coursework as determined by the receiving institution (Example English 1301 Dual and College Algebra Dual) Student must earn a "C" or better in each course.
