Ocean Floor My Map Lab

Lab Instructions:

Use the Ocean Floor Features Layer on your My Map to complete the lab.  View each pin and determine what ocean floor feature you're looking at.  Fill out the handout provided below.

Features Include:

Continental Shelf

Continental Slope

Submarine Canyon

Mid-Ocean Ridge

Deep-Ocean Trench

Guyot

Coral Atoll

Seamount

Abyssal Plain

Abyssal Fan

If the Ocean Floor Features Layer is missing from your My Map, you can follow these instructions for adding it:

1. Click on this file and download it to your google drive: Ocean Floor Features.xml

2. Open your My Map and click Add Layer.  

3. Click Import and choose the Ocean Floor Features.xml file you just downloaded.  It should be listed under Recent.
