My name is Heather Bush, and I am so excited to be your English and Social Studies teacher this year!

I earned my Master's degree in Education in 2014, with specializations in Educational Technology and English Language Development for Academic Literacy. I've taught 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, and I have been teaching at LMS for twelve years now. Teaching is actually my second career - I worked in healthcare for several years before becoming a teacher.

A bit about my personal life: I was adopted as a baby and I have two younger brothers. I have five children (three of them were adopted). All of my "kids" are older and out on their own now. My youngest is in college. I enjoy music, reading, swimming, theater, camping, and going to the beach. I play the piano and I even worked as a piano teacher to earn money when I first attended college. I am a cancer survivor! To show my gratitude, I volunteer each year with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life to continue the fight against cancer. My favorite movies are the Jurassic Park movies or most musicals. My favorite TV reruns are Friends and Schitt's Creek. However, I am an avid reader more than anything. I love mysteries, rom-coms, and quirky stories. I am very much a cat person (I like most animals, though). Beyond that, I'm a passionate, motivated, and caring teacher, here for all of you during these middle school years. I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you!

Life is all about what you make of it. Let's look at this year as an exciting opportunity to grow as learners. My passion is teaching you to transfer skills learned in Core classes to other areas of your life, and maybe even to your future career.
