Karen Schnee

Welcome! I'm Karen Schnee and am excited to work closely not only with students but also with families to further our work with Proficiency-Based Learning. This year I will be teaching Honors English 9, Honors English 10 and Honors English 11. In all classes, emphasis will be placed on interpretation , analysis and evaluation of literature/information texts as well as communication (both written and verbal). Freshmen writing activities will target personal essays and evidence-based essays. Sophomores will expand upon those areas with narrative writing, as well. The homework calendar, class assignments and assignment scores and feedback are posted in Schoology for all classes. Parents and guardians can view these items by creating a parent account. Instructions on creating a parent account can be found HERE.

Note to parents: In addition to our Proficiency-Based System, the 2018-2019 school year will also include LSSU's Scholarly Habits: Perseverance, Learning Strategies, Positive Mindsets and Social Skills. I will be communicating with students and families more about this as the year launches.
