The primary aims of physical education at PAML are to equip students with the knowledge, skills, capacities, and values, along with the enthusiasm, to maintain a healthy lifestyle into adulthood.

"Physical literacy is the ability to move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person. " (SHAPE America National Standards)

Welcome to PAML Physical Education - 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grades

Activities included in the program are designed to promote physical fitness, to develop motor skills, to instill knowledge and an understanding of rules, concepts, and strategies, and to teach students to work as part of a team or as individuals, in a wide variety of non-competitive and competitive activities.

All of the rules, skill cues, and general information you will need for all of the PE assessments will be located on these sites.

Note to Parents: please provide your student with a pair of sneakers to wear during each PE class for the safety of the individual and other students.

The Use of Pedometers in PE: all students will learn to use this technology to track steps, moderate to vigorous activity time (MVPA), and activity time. Students will use this data to track and set goals based on results per class, week and/or month.

Did you know it is recommended for a child to get 60 minutes or more of MVPA time a day?

Class expectations: all students are expected to come to class prepared with a change of clothing and sneakers. All students are expected to participate daily in all physical activities.
