Low-Cost geophysical methods for volcanic hazard assessment and observing active metallogenesis
Objectives
1) Monitor inflammatory episodes at active volcanoes by observing changes in the local magnetic field, which could reflect shifts in subsurface magma storage. Measurements are taken using a low cost magnetometer developed by Dr. Biasi.
2) Observe metallogenic processes as they occur in real time using a magnetic monitoring technique also developed by Dr. Biasi.
Earth Mapping Resource Initiative (MRI) Aeromagnetics Data for economic deposit insight
Objective
Use Earth MRI data collected by the U.S Geologic survey to better understand economic deposits around Wyoming. The goal is to enable more targeted mining efforts with reduced exploration costs.
