About the Science National Honor Society (SNHS)
The Science National Honor Society is a prestigious organization that recognizes high school students who excel in science. Founded to encourage a passion for scientific learning and leadership, SNHS brings together students dedicated to academic excellence, community service, and the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

Membership Requirements
Must be in the last two years of high school
Must be enrolled in a honors science course in both Junior and Senior years
Maintain a 3.5 unweighted gpa across all science courses, and a 3.0 unweighted gpa across all courses
Attend a minimum of 3 meetings a semester
Attend one officer lecture annually
Attend one community science event annually
10 community services hours must be completed each year in the field of science (a minimum of 5 must be completed with the chapter)
Once admitted, pay an annual $20 fee
Due Dates
Applications to join the SNHS are due September 19, 2025 to Mrs. Farrow in 2152 by 3:00 pm.

To Apply for Officer
Attend one MANDATORY meeting on September 3rd (one will be held before school from 7:05-7:20, and one after school (from 2:25-2:40)
Pick up an application at a mandatory meeting (9/3)
Complete and return the application to Mrs. Farrow in 2152 by 3:00 pm on September 19th. No applications will be accepted after this time, no exceptions.
A special election (outside normal meeting times) will be held on September 25th during Tiger Time
Anyone hoping to apply for an officer position will need to attend a mandatory meeting to pick up an application and learn about roles. The SNHS by-laws require a majority vote by members to be elected.
