LSHS Tiger Archery

We are very excited to announce the third year of National Archery in the Schools Program for LSHS. We are offering a NASP Team that will begin practicing in November, usually on Monday and Wednesday evenings in the LSHS North Gym.

If you are interested in participating on the archery team, parents and students can contact our Coach/Sponsor, R. Brady Finch, in order to receive important NASP archery team information. Once you are part of the team, communication comes through the Band App.

LSHS Tiger Archery Tournament Info

All dates are tentative and subject to reserved spots for all archers. Please understand that dates, location and times for tournaments can change during the season since registration often doesn't open until a few weeks before the tournament date. Sign-up forms will give options for preferred time slots and we will make ever effort to accommodate. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST A LINE TIME CHANGE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Please try to work out a scheduling arrangement or a line time trade with another archer on our roster if possible. If you cannot make a tournament on our schedule, you must notify your coach ASAP. You are responsible to pay for no-show tournament entry fee(s) if you don't withdraw by the drop date since they are reserved spots for you.

Inclement weather: Most tournaments will not be cancelled until the last minute. It requires a significant amount of time and money to register, prepare and host a tournament, combined with the difficulty in archery teams being able to "get" gym space reservations during basketball season. If a tournament is cancelled due to weather, we will email and send a text notification (if signed up) when we are notified.

NOTABLES:

All Archers new to NASP will need to complete a New Archer Clinic before participating in practices.

The fee for participating in Archery is $100 per archer. This fee helps offset the cost of equipment, plus covers the cost of a t-shirt and a jersey for each archer. The fee can be made to Mr. Finch in the form of cash or a check payable to LSHS.

Practices

Practice Dates and Times:

New Archer Clinics (new to NASP archery):

All Archers - Regular Season Practice:

Mondays & Wednesdays (other dates as needed)

Practices 7:30 - 9:00 pm

LSHS North Gym

Please plan to stay for entire practice to help with range set-up and tear-down.

Tournaments

The archery team will compete at several tournaments this year. Some are local (within metro) and a few are outside of the metro. Entry fee for qualifying tournaments is between $10-20 per archer. Most tournaments are on Saturdays with some line times on Friday evening.

State Championship

For championship tournaments we will attempt to get the best available line times.

Depending on tier qualification, we may have to spread line times over multiple days.

The cost for the state tournament is $30 per archer. There is also a $10 fee for spectators.
