FCCLA is a national career and technical student organization for young men and women. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life -- planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication necessary in the home and workplace. Chapter (including Star Events Competition and Culinary Team) projects focus on a variety of youth concerns. Community service activities are planned and accomplished throughout the year.
Time Commitment: Throughout the year, each student is expected to attend scheduled meetings and assist with activities. Participation and/or competition at local, regional, state, and national levels are available. Involved students earn the opportunity to letter. Meetings will be held immediately after school on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Other meetings will be added as needed and agreed on by members.
Eligibility Requirements: Students must either be currently enrolled in a FACS (Family and Consumer Sciences) course or have taken a FACS course in 7th grade or above. Members will pay national, state and local dues for a total of $30.00.
