Welcome to Debate!

Debate is an academic activity that engages students in argumentative competition. The Debate Team generally competes in the following events: Policy Debate, Public Forum Debate, Value Debate, Original Oratory Speech, Extemporaneous Speech, Student Congress, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Prose/Poetry Reading.. Students are required to attend a minimum of two tournaments each semester (most attend more). This allows a student an opportunity to qualify for a national tournament, receive special awards and honors, and to wear honor cords at graduation 

Procedure for joining:

1. Enroll in a debate/competitive drama course at LSHS. As part of the course, a student is automatically a member of the competitive team. OR
