EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This study assesses the acceptability and feasibility of utilizing pineapple leaf fiber as a sustainable material for kitchen scrubbers in San Pablo City, Laguna. The proposed business, located in Barangay San Mateo, will operate from Monday to Saturday, offering rest days on Sundays. Each box of PiñaClean Kitchen Scrubbers will include three durable, eco-friendly scrubbers designed to provide an environmentally conscious alternative to conventional products while meeting the cleaning needs of local households.
As plastic pollution remains a pressing global issue, conventional kitchen scrubbers made from synthetic materials contribute to environmental harm. PiñaClean Kitchen Scrubber offers an eco-friendly alternative, utilizing non-toxic, biodegradable pineapple leaf fiber as a sustainable and affordable solution. The study aims to assess the product's acceptability and effectiveness, promoting a cost-efficient, environmentally safe option for households while addressing the need for sustainable kitchen cleaning tools.
Based on the survey conducted by the proponents, majority of the respondents (63%) belong to households with four to six members, indicating a strong potential customer base for PiñaClean Kitchen Scrubber. Survey findings show that 89% of respondents expressed interest in trying the product, while 11% were not interested. In terms of purchasing frequency, 53% of potential customers indicated they would buy the product once a month, 18% would purchase it weekly, 15% twice a month, 9% every two months, 3% quarterly, and 2% semi-annually.
These results demonstrate a consistent demand for the product, supporting the conclusion that the proposed business is both feasible and profitable.
