Guided by Faith, Connected by Technology
Hi! I’m Coheed Abraham Flores, a Grade 7 student from 7K. I chose the Home-Based Online Learning modality (HBOL) at LSGH because I live quite far from the school. My parents and I have been interested in the school for a long time, that is why we were really happy to find out about HBOL. It's a great opportunity for students like me who want to be part of the community and become a Lasallian even if we live far away.
Studying through HBOL has been an empowering and transformative experience. The online setup, using Zoom and Ranger360, is very simple and beginner friendly. Even if you don’t understand Ranger 360 at first, they provide a tutorial to make it much easier to learn. Zoom is also easy to use for my generation as a Gen Alpha. Plus, even though I’m just at home, it doesn’t actually feel like I’m at home. I truly feel like a student in a classroom; the only difference is the online setup and the fact that I’m more comfortable.
The teachers at La Salle Green Hills are incredibly supportive and kind. They make sure that even in an online setup, we stay totally engaged, connected and respectful. Classes are super interactive and dynamic, and I really like how they use zoom to its fullest potential. We even use other fun and interactive sites like Kahoot, Wayground and sometimes booklet .
Through HBOL, I have developed strong digital literacy, and helped me feel more confident even when I'm just at home ( literally and figuratively ). It’s been an amazing experience because I’m not just learning lessons but I’m also learning how to be a better and kind person. Our teachers always make sure that we stay kind and respectful to everyone whether we are in person or on screen.
Even though we are learning from home, I still feel part of the Lasallian community through online club activities and Onsite Collaboration. They make sure that we are not left out and make us feel like we are really part of the community. Even if we are not in school, they always include us in everything.

I totally recommend the HBOL modality at La Salle Green Hills. It’s perfect for students like me who love learning from home and want a modern, flexible way to get an awesome education. If you want to be a Lasallian and enjoy school while staying comfortable at home, you should definitely join HBOL. One more thing is that instead of getting tired from traffic, I have more time and energy to do my school work.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever.
Why HBOL?
To some, that’s a question of doubt or skepticism. To me, having been in this HBOL modality of LSGH for almost three years, the answer has always been: “Why not?”
As an incoming Grade 10 student, I’ve realized it takes real courage to defend that answer. In a world that still expects us to conform to a traditional “norm,” of onsite schooling. People often wonder if we can truly be “real” La Sallians while in online modality. My experience, however, has proven the opposite. HBOL hasn’t taken the La Sallian identity out of me; it has redefined my identity to evolve with a rapidly changing world. It has moved my learned values from the classroom walls and placed them into the very core of who I am.
Faith
In a face-to-face setting, 'Faith' is often supervised. Our teachers ensure that our beliefs are aligned. It’s easy because we have constant reminders of how things should be done. In HBOL, however, those walls are gone. My faith is tested by my integrity. When I’m alone with my laptop—choosing to answer exams honestly, staying focused when distractions are just one click away, and doing my best even when no one is watching—that is when I truly find God in me. It is no longer about being guarded by others; it is about the personal strength to decide for myself what is right.
Zeal for Service
In a face-to-face setting, 'Zeal for Service' is traditionally expressed through physical outreach. HBOL also does this by providing us programs where we can personally interact with our less privileged brothers and sisters, but even more, it challenges us to practice service through self - reliance. While a physical classroom offers a structured environment for service, HBOL develops in us the creativity to seek out and serve the last, the least, and the lost in different ways. This character-building is essential, as it prepares us to eventually fulfill this mission on our own in the future.
Communion in Mission
In a face to face setting, “Communion in Mission” means building things together. In HBOL, we also do that … and more. We learn to use different methods to collaborate. Our physical inability does not deter our spirit. We become more creative in finding ways. We bring out the best in all of us in the best way that we can. We are learning that being a La Sallian brother or sister isn’t about being in the same building. It’s about sharing the same mission, no matter our physical distance maybe.
The Evolving La Sallian
Adapting to a "New Norm" isn't about losing who I am. It’s about growing into who I need to be as a La Sallian leader. In a world that is constantly redefining what it means to lead, I am becoming a La Sallian leader - adaptable, responsible and self-reliant - ready and confident to take on any challenge. HBOL didn’t take away my La Sallian values; instead, it stripped away my reliance on physical reminders and challenged me to uphold them myself. Without the school walls, I was left with what is truly important: Faith, Service, and Communion. These aren’t just school rules anymore—they have become my way of life. They are the values that build my character—a character I will carry with me, wherever I am and whatever I do.

Home Based Online Learning: My Period of Growth
and Success
Hi! I’m Caleil Raphael M. Tolentino, a Grade 8 student from 8K. I chose the Home-Based Online Learning (HBOL) modality at La Salle Green Hills because of our family trip to Canada which provided safe opportunities for our newest family member.
Studying through HBOL has been gradual, yet inclusive and secure. The online setup allowed me to foster and maintain academic integrity, while also effectively collaborating with other classmates even in a digitalized environment. In addition, it acts as a convenient source of learning, pursuing time management and efficiency.
The teachers at La Salle Green Hills are polite, courteous, and hospitable, and they make sure that even in an online setup, we stay dedicated and committed to completing our tasks. Classes are facilitated, organized, and user-friendly, and I appreciate how teachers let everyone recite one-by-one without any form of conflict due to their exemplary patience and understanding .
Through HBOL, I have developed the skills of temperance, fortitude, prudence, and rationality. This modality helped me become more courageous and resilient even amid adversities, more organized and well-established, and allowed me to take note of the learnings gained with cooperation and support from my teachers.
Even though we are learning from home, I still feel part of the Lasallian community through the Three Core Values of Faith, Service, and Communion, as they are integral to the school’s vision of creating a community of future leaders and moral communities dedicated to building a just humane, and sustainable world.
I highly recommend the HBOL modality at La Salle Green Hills to students who face challenges related to travel or distance, as well as to individuals with limited time due to other responsibilities. It provides a flexible learning environment while allowing students to complete their assigned tasks effectively.
As Lasallians, let us always remind ourselves that we are in the holy presence of God, whether we are online or onsite. Animo La Salle!

MY JOURNEY AS A LASALLIAN HBOL STUDENT
Good day, Lasallians and Non-Lasallians! My name is Candice Nicole Laureen R. Flores, from Grade 9, section K. I am an HBOL (Home-Based Online Learning) student. I chose this modality because the ongoing construction and heavy traffic in our area make daily travel challenging. In addition, attending classes from home helps reduce the muscle strain and pain I experience from carrying a heavy school bag and other required materials. Learning online allows me to take better care of my health while continuing my education in a comfortable environment.
Being an HBOL student can sometimes make it more challenging to connect with teachers and classmates compared to face-to-face learning. However, it is also exciting because I can learn from anywhere and interact with students from different places. You can meet friends online, even from other countries. Through HBOL, students can experience a Lasallian education regardless of their location. I encourage non-Lasallians to learn online via HBOL where they can learn new things, and have their online club to bond with others from other grade levels who are also interested in being online. HBOL also provides opportunities to develop new skills and build meaningful friendships.
The HBOL teachers and staff at La Salle Green Hills are welcoming, supportive, and approachable. They make us feel safe and have fun while talking and getting to know them better. Teachers and staff don’t just look serious; they have their other side, the caring side for their students. We can genuinely feel their presence in our lives as they genuinely support us in our school endeavors . Their kindness and dedication help create a positive learning environment where students feel encouraged to grow and succeed.
Even as an online learner, I still feel like a valued member of the LSGH community. Everyone is welcomed and supported, and experienced students are always willing to help new students adjust to the online modality. This sense of community makes the HBOL experience more enjoyable and meaningful.
I highly recommend the HBOL modality to non-Lasallian students, especially those who face challenges related to distance, traffic, or travel. HBOL provides the flexibility to learn from home while remaining connected to a supportive school community and receiving a quality Lasallian education.
