Why I Enrolled in the HBOL Modality
Our family underwent some challenges and it required us to transition in a different environment that opened better opportunities for us as a family. At first, I was reluctant to move online, but it still went well and I adjusted to my new normal. I am thankful that La Salle Green Hills opened its doors in allowing me to continue having a Lasallian Education, even online.
Activities I Enjoy with HBOL Modality
I mostly enjoy having to do work independently where I also developed the skill of being more focused and organized with the tasks that I need to accomplish, with less distractions compared to face to face interaction.
In terms of maintaining friendship with my peers, I am blessed to have friends since Nursery who are keeping in touch with me. I have technology to thank for that since we are able to have video calls and chats. We are able to update each other and do our check-ins on how everyone is doing.
My Over-all Experience in HBOL Modality
I’d describe it as a great and relaxing experience. I have more control of my time and don't have to battle the daily traffic to and from school which usually takes me an hour or two to travel alone. In a way, it lessened stress and I was able to better manage my health too, factoring rest and more time for recreation.

I enrolled in HBOL due to its convenience, mainly not having to travel to and from school all the time. The extra time allows me to finish tasks and assignments on time and with quality. The extra time also helps me relax, destress and get enough sleep.
I enjoy activities that use our HBOL set-up to our advantage . Many group projects adjusted to us become more fun due to the freedom and power that the HBOL set-up gives us to execute the project.
I would describe my HBOL experience as a pleasant one that allows me to flourish and grow in a different way. My experience so far has taught me how to do things quicker, manage my time better and how to customize my environment in order to help me focus and learn.

I enrolled in the HBOL modality because it is easier to come to Taiwan and do important errands here. I like how it is easier for the teachers to arrange the students because Online classes have fewer students.
So far, I would describe the HBOL modality experience as “convenient.” I would call HBOL classes convenient because I don’t need to wake up early compared to face-to-face students, and accessing Ranger 360 is also more convenient as we are already using our devices. However, the HBOL modality also prevents me from meeting my friends in person.

As someone with a medical condition such as Lupus, I enrolled in the HBOL modality because it provides access to quality education without the need for daily commuting, which can be physically demanding. It offers flexibility, allowing me to learn at my own pace while balancing my health and other responsibilities.

So far, my experience with HBOL has been engaging and memorable as it still allows me to socialize with my peers and teachers. While there are challenges in maintaining self-discipline, the support from my teachers and online resources makes the learning process smooth.

I enrolled in the HBOL modality because it is the perfect modality for my personality, for my kind of lifestyle and for my overall quality of life. lt is fortunate that the HBOL modality is available as an option for me. My first choice of school is LSGH and because of this option I can continue studying in LSGH even though there are conditions that will not permit me to if the only option is face to face.
The following are my considerations for choosing HBOL Modality: First is my safety. Safety from bullying. Safety from any untoward incidents in school like bombings and shooters. Safety from vehicular accidents. Second is my focus and concentration. I am more able to concentrate online as I am alone. I can easily get distracted in school when I'm with my classmates physically. I prefer to have separate times for studying and for socializing and online schooling allows me to do just that. Third is my health. I am able to get enough sleep since I do not have to wake up early to get to school on time. I am able to eat more nutritious foods since everything is prepared at home. I am able to avoid stress since I have control of my environment. I am also able to immediately rest after my last class and because of that I have more energy for physical activities later in the afternoon. Fourth is flexibility. I am able to attend class anywhere in the world. I am able to learn from experiences while traveling and at the same time learn from an actual classroom set-up from an excellent and prestigious institution like La Salle Green Hills. Fifth, is my freedom. There is so much that a person could learn from freedom being in HBOL. Responsibility and independence. For me, these two are very important in my development.
I enjoy doing HBOL class everyday. All our teachers are great. They are not only very good at what they do but they are also very nice. Passionate and compassionate. I like being forced to "tula" everyday in Filipino. I like Teacher Evy's videos in History. I like crossword puzzles in CL. I like becoming an Architect in my art classes. I like being forced to write in notebooks in Science and History. I like how Science is taught like it is easy. I like online Science experiments which although we don't get the real feel but we are able to concentrate more and analyze the results better. I like making PSA videos in English. It is so much fun. I like having an online Notebook in English. I like reading and analyzing stories both in books and in Scholastic Lit Pro. I like that we are able to fully use skills like photography, editing, lay outing, website making and other things that we learn in Computer into real life actions in making our assignments, videos and Performance Tasks. I like Nearpod activities in Math. I like making the Infographics in PE. I like our frequent Quizizz in Science, English, History and PE especially if they are given as a review before our exams. Oh, maybe there’s still a lot of things that I like that I can’t think of right now. Most of all, I like the idea that I could do all of those things without being in school.
Overall, it's a great experience being in LSGH HBOL. We are very well taken care of. I always see
Teacher Tina checking if everything's ok with us, with our teachers and with the
equipment necessary for online classes and exams. To be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way,
both LSGH and HBOL. This is the perfect set-up for me.
