Hi! I am Camille Newman, and I am the Grade 4 homeroom teacher and I also teach Math to grades 3,4 and 5. I am a proud Jamaican who brings my culture, warmth, and energy into the classroom, creating a space where students feel welcomed and excited to learn.
My teaching philosophy is guided by the words of John Dewey, who said, “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” I believe that every experience, question, and discovery in the classroom contributes to who we become. I strive to nurture curiosity, respect, and confidence in my students while helping them see learning as a meaningful part of everyday life.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy baking, spending time with my son, and exploring new ideas for creative projects.
My favorite color is red and black, and my favorite fruit is watermelon and I enjoy watching Nigerian movies.
This being a new chapter in my teaching journey, I am looking forward to a wonderful year of growth, collaboration, and learning together!
