The Lake Shore Family Support Center is fortunate to collaborate with several outside agencies to provide mental health counseling to students in our buildings during the day.

A counselor from Best Self is available by appointment at William T Hoag during the day on Mondays.
Best Self serves children and adults of all ages.
To make a referral to the Best Self counselor, please contact the Social Worker at your child's building.
A counselor from Harmonia is available by appointment at the High School during the school day on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays
A counselor from Harmonia is available by appointment at the Middle School during the day on Mondays.
Harmonia serves children and adults aged 10 and up.

A counselor from Horizon Health Services is avaiable by appointment at the Middle School during the school day on Wednesdays.
Horizon Health Services provides counseling for children of all ages.
Starting in Spring '25, Lake Shore High School and Middle School can refer students to the SAFER (Substance Abuse-Free Education/Intervention and Referral) Program.
The SAFER Program is free to participate and consists of anywhere from 1 - 12 appointments which can be held at Lake Shore Middle or High School. The program can address a variety of substance usage including vaping, cannabis and alcohol.

Compeer is a school-based mentoring program which promotes positive mental health among students through supportive mentoring and friendships.
Compeer mentors are available at the Middle and High School 2 days a week from mid September - early May.
