The reason pancreatic cancer is so fatal is because of how fast it spreads to your liver. Surgery is an option however if it isn't caught early enough the tissue they need isn't viable anymore. Since this cancer is in most cases fatal, many hospitals are trying to prolong the amount of time it takes for the cancer to get to the liver. They have found a way to slow down the cancer by getting rid of a specific protein in the cancer! "pancreatic cancer exosomes contain a protein called macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF)" The protein in the cancer attacks the liver which is why the liver is such a good spot for the cancer to continue its growth in. This may not be a cure but it will increase the time you have left! As the years go on we learn more and more about how this cancer works!
