Required Professional Development
For the 2021-2022 school year the following hours must be obtained by all licensed employees:
18 hours of professional development required pertaining to the educator’s professional growth plan (Requirements of TESS or LEADS)
10 hours of professional development (Educator’s Choice)
6 hours of Educational Technology
A minimum of 2 hours of professional development in Child Maltreatment and Reporting

In 2005, the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 2318 which created a partnership between the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) and the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) to provide equitable access to high-quality, online professional development for all licensed educators in Arkansas. You can use Arkansas Ideas to get your yearly required credit (Child Maltreatment and Reporting, Arkansas History, Parent Involvement, Teen Suicide Prevention, Etc. ) You may also use Arkansas Ideas for other professional development not to exceed 12 hours each year.
