To find articles and other materials relating to an issue you select, check out the following databases:
POINTS OF VIEW (an EBSCO database)

If it asks you to REVALIDATE your Noodletools account, do the following:
Enter: noodletools1
It will ask you to revalidate your account (& verify you are a Lenape student) every year
If you do not have a Noodletools account - you can set up your Noodletools account:
Click on REGISTER at the bottom of the page (do NOT sign in with your Google account - you must set up a separate password and account with noodletools following these directions)
Enter the school login info and create your account (use your ID number as your Personal ID)
School username: lenapemediacenter
School password: noodletools1
Once logged into Noodletools, click on +NEW PROJECT
Name your project, select MLA & Advanced, and click on submit
Click on SOURCES tab
To create a new citation, click on +NEW SOURCE
From your list of sources in Noodletools -- Click on PRINT/EXPORT to Google Docs
Submit this document to your Classroom assignment
**DIRECTIONS FOR CREATING CITATIONS FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF SOURCES**
FILL OUT THE FORM: To create a citation from the information in the article (this will allow Noodletools to provide you with the in-text citation)
Click on NEW SOURCE
Click on DATABASE
Select Type of Source (journal, magazine, newspaper, etc)
Fill out as much as you can on form including:
Name of database
Date of access (can click today to autofill)
Author
Article title
Pages
Name of journal (or newspaper, eBook, etc.)
Volume/Issue
Publication date
Click SAVE
COPY AND PASTE OPTION: To copy and paste a citation from the database (you may need to edit the citation and Noodletools will not provide the in-text citation if you copy and paste a citation)
Click on NEW SOURCE
Click on DATABASE
Select Type of Source (journal, magazine, newspaper, etc)
Click on COPY AND PASTE A CITATION at the top of the page
Paste the citation into the box
Check and make sure the citation is correct (for instance, if names or titles are in all capital letters, you may need to make changes)
Click SAVE
For the eBOOKS, INFOBASE AMERICAN HISTORY, & BLOOM'S LITERARY REFERENCE CENTER
In article, click on CITATION TOOLS or CITATION
Click SELECT
Select NOODLETOOLS and click on EXPORT
Click to IMPORT the citation to Noodletools
Refresh your source list in Noodletools and you should see the citation in the list
Click to create a NEW SOURCE
Select WEBSITE -- WEBPAGE
Fill out:
URL from your website (copy and paste)
Date Accessed (click TODAY to automatically fill in today’s date)
WEBPAGE or DOCUMENT/ARTICLE title (this is the name of the specific page you are on …. most likely, your topic)
NAME OF WEBSITE (this is the TITLE of the entire site where you are finding information)
Any additional information you can find
THEN CLICK SAVE to save the citation to your Noodletools list
IF YOU ARE USING AN IMAGE OR A VIDEO AS PART OF YOUR RESEARCH AND INFORMATION GATHERING, REMEMBER TO CITE THESE AS WELL:
Click to create a NEW SOURCE
Select WEBSITE -- PHOTO OR IMAGE (born digital)
Fill out:
Name of container website where image is found (NOT GOOGLE…actual website)
URL from your website (copy and paste)
Date Accessed (click TODAY to automatically fill in today’s date)
Type of image (select IMAGE from drop-down menu)
Title of image (provide a descriptive title)
Any additional information you can find
THEN CLICK SAVE to save the citation to your Noodletools list
Click to create a NEW SOURCE
Select WEBSITE -- VIDEO CLIP (online)
Fill out:
URL for the video (copy and paste)
Date of publication (the “posted” date on You Tube)
Date Accessed (click TODAY to automatically fill in today’s date)
TITLE of VIDEO (copy this directly from You Tube)
Name of Site (put You Tube if you used You Tube for your video)
Posted by (if a company or group, put this in Last Name)
Any additional information you can find
THEN CLICK SAVE to save the citation to your Noodletools list
